not exactly an answer to the question, but I use a digital weight scale and measure it by weight, it is perfectly accurate evertime, i never have to make an adjustment, It always comes out perfect when i weigh the salt instead of going buy cups.

Yeah, if i could see that i left a piece way down in the pores somewhere i would, problem is the rocks are so porus you cant always see that you left a little piece. Isnt rodi water not good for freshwater tanks because it takes out all of the stuff that is needed in the water. Wouldnt running a carbon filter clear the water up?
