Re: Been long time, questions about Rock Crabs
Hey Gerwin, the crab actually died a few days later, but others are in the tank and doing quite well so unsure what it was. I still love my tabks; I have four with 3 being brackish natural tanks and upgraded to small led lights that actually run through the entire rainbow of colors; too cool. In the...

Been long time, questions about Rock Crabs
Ok so life moves on, since I ladt posted here I fell victim to Vibrio the flesh eating bacteria. My left leg haspaid one hell of a cost, but Iam so blessed. The leg is still attached and I am still alive. On to the questions. I have several smaller rock crabs thathave been in the 100 gal tank for al...

Thanks for looking and no one replying. The company answered my email after a few days with no replies here; the pump has a life time guarantee.

Re: Great Food for puffers
a better food is fresh oysters from the gulf; the small clams near the beach. This will allow the puffer to not only eat but scraping his teeth in the shell will also prevent those teeth from getting too big. They also enjoy fresh alge covered rocks from the gulf.

Hey guys I have a Aqueon 950 pump for the 55 gal salt tank and the impeller finally wore out and I need to purchase a new impeller, shaft and those small rubber bushings. Do you carry something like this at the store. Its a fairly new unit; and was a dam good unit although I think the sand in the 55...

Native fish....
For those who do not mind getting a little wet and if you have a salt or brackish system the local Puffers are out in numbers right now. I caught 2 smaller puffers and three larger puffers with my minnow net. There are still thousands of green striped minnows all over the beach shorelines Glass shri...

Mud crab or Rock Crab?
So the last couple of nights the low tide has been increasingly later at night and that perfect for me since it allows access to areas not normally in a few inches of water since the tides are out. I also use a small but powerful led headlamp so both hands can be used to catch my favorite fish (fin ...

Re: Pistol Shrimp
Well Mr Pistol must have internet access because he totally cleaned up his act these last 12 or so hours. His digging up the sand has stopped and even more important he has started eating the Tetra Crisps fish food and loves it. My brown shrimp and small fin walkers love the food and today was the f...

Re: Pistol Shrimp
Well its been a few days and this guy has already clogged one new filter with sand and I had to clean out the impeller also; he is still busy kicking up sand still. The only difference is since I removed the local Gobi's I caught on the beach he isn't firing as often; I am going to release him back ...

Re: Pistol Shrimp
I took all the fish (Blemmies and Spotted Gobi's) out of the tank until he chills out. All thats left in the tank with him is a small rock crab; a few skillet fish and maybe a dozen small brown shrimp. I put in a new filter two days ago; had to remove it today due to all the sand this guy is kicking...

Pistol Shrimp
So I was cruising the edge of the water line last night and came across a different looking shrimp. At first I thought it may have been a small lobster or a shrimp with a deformed claw. Looked it up on line and its called a Pistol Shrimp; man this guy totally dug up my 10 gal tank and has made it di...
