Re: Tank is NOT Looking Good....
Yes, just as Gerwin said, my tank is doing good with the exception of keeping new fish alive. I had about four new fish die in row before realizing that we had a bully in the tank. The bully was keeping the new fish in distress and keeping them from eating. Gerwin actually helped us diagnose this pr...

Re: New Fish Always Die??
Okay bluwtr, so I've definetely been acclimating too long. I have been adding water to the bag every 10-15 min for about 45 min to an hour. I will change the way I do this and only acclimate for 30 min. Gerwin, I think what your saying about having bullies is definetely our main problem. I just neve...

New Fish Always Die??
I was wondering if someone may know why I can't get any new fish to stay alive? :problem: :? So my mandarin just died last week. I don't know if he went to long without copepods or if it was something else. So now the engineered goby that we baught last week just died yesterday. The last four new fi...

Re: Feeding a Mandarin
Thanks for the info. I am interested in this HOB deal even though I don't have a clue what that is. As far as the mandarin being farm raised or not I don't know, I bought it from Gerwin. And about the tank needing enough rock and being established, I was told I could put a mandarin in the tank being...

Feeding a Mandarin
My mandarin is all the sudden not looking very well. I was hoping to get a bottle of copepods this past weekend, but no one had any in stock. I have tried feeding him some mysis shrimp, but he doesn't seem interested in them. Gerwin said he would have some tigger pods in this Thursday. What else do ...

Re: New Pics
Thanks for the compliment. The substrate is not gravel, it's crushed coral.. And yes, it is an old school under gravel filter system.

New Pics
Here are some most recent pics of the 29gal tank we started at the first of the year. Up to 40lbs of live rock, one mandarin, two clown fish, one basallett, one damsel, one starfish, one coral banded shrimp, one anemone, and one piece of star polyps. Our next step is a better light so that we can st...

Lobster/Shrimp Battle
Well the last two new fish we've baught have died shortly after placing them in the tank. This past friday we added a new fish (a mandoran) and it hasn't died but instead our purple lobster and red coral shrimp have finally crossed paths and the lobster killed the shrimp. :( This sucks becaus...

Tang on it's last leg or fin..
Just looked in our tank first thing this morning to see our tang at the bottom almost solid white in color. Thought he was dead went to scoop him out but he started moving around. My question is remove him now or wait and see if he makes a comeback?

Quarantine Process
Well found out yesterday that my blue tang has ICH. So I visited Gerwin for advise being I'm new to this. So I have been doing everything he told me. I set up a 10 gal tank and filled it with water from my 30gal, put about half of my live rock and all my inverts in it. Replaced the 10gal with some R...

Tank is NOT Looking Good....
So over the past week or two our tank has started going down hill. It's having an algae breakout. The crushed coral is all turning brown along with the purple live rock, glass and everything in the tank. It's ugly. Just done another water change but its not helping. Thinking I might ought to do away...
