Re: Problem Solved

Just because Gerwin didn't say it.. You goal temp is under 80. Over 80 and I start adding fans or looking for gear that's causing too much heat.

Re: Home made frag plugs

I know a guy who built his whole rock structure and then drilled out holes for frag plugs in it just to hide the ugly things! I typically broke my frags off the plugs and epoxied the base into the rock anyhow. Then drop the encrusted plug on a rack and let it grow back up for sale.

Re: Problem Solved

Glad you found a fix! Did you not have a temp on the tank from the apex? Telling you that it was high? Where is the display mounted?

Re: Drilling Tank

I am very very slowly moving through my build. I got the drilling done and will be building my Bean Animal overflow either at the end of this month or the beginning of next month. Mine is a true "coast to coast" in that it spans the entire width of the tank in order to pull the thinnest sh...

I don't even have a tank right now and my brute trash can with live rock, a damsel and a maroon clown is winning this battle!

Re: SO I'm starting a list RULES to know about your Hobby!

Rule 1: PATIENCE . Take your time, make any changes slowly and keep everything stable... SPS = stability promotes success. It's not a race, it's a marathon. Always err on the side of observing too long instead of reacting too fast. Make additions, add any new products, change any lighting very very ...

Re: 300 DD

Owned a portrait studio for close to 25 years till Katrina took it out. Just use an Olympus Pen now don't ever pull out the big stuff anymore. There are over 12 full boxes of coral in the tank anything in particular you want to see? Colors are fading too little flow and chemistry changes till I can...

Re: Gerwin -this is bean-animal overflow

I saw this system on a 300g tank build on Reef Central, I like it. Seems like it will keep all the waste out of your tank really easy and get it down to the skimmer and out of your system. If I had known more about it, I would have gotten it on my tank. That's the coast to coast part of the concept...

Re: Amazing corals that came from Gerwin

I plan to have a large frag sale before moving of my tank... I'm considering fragging out my entire tank in the coming months, so just watch the site.

Re: Hows everyone doing?

Wow, sorry for your loss Scott. Did you lose power and that's what caused it? You had one coral in there that I reallllllyyyyy liked, it might still be in there, can't really tell by the pic. Its the round one, top shelf. The one that I liked really wasn't lipped around the edge, but its been awhil...

I'm going to name #3. I have never had someone see it and not ask for a frag lol.
