Re: What have you done for your tank this week?
After months of neglect and ignoring the sage advice of our favorite LFS, I attacked a large outbreak of hair algae in my tank the last couple of days. Pulled out about 175 lbs of live rock (tank was packed full), suctioned the sand bottom as thoroughly as I could, put back in about 125 lbs of the c...

Liner's in
After much effort, building, rebuilding, fixing, etc the liner finally went into the pond today. I put about 2' of water in it to let it settle. I'll let it settle or the next week and then drain it to o my plumbing ( bottom drain, two returns and a skimmer). Hopefully I'll be circulating water befo...

I'm looking forward to your next birthday, pretty soon you'll be having to give stuff away. Until then, Roger's birthday will do. See you then.

Hurry while they last. Ask nicely and Gerwin will even carry it to your car for you (it is pretty heavy). Can't wait to see
what's next.

Re: Anyone have experience with Octopuses here?
Never had one personally, but knew a a guy with one. Be sure your tank is completely sealed, he thought his was but it escaped. Before it got out and died, it stayed hidden out of site all the time. Cool animals, not so great for aquariums in my opinion. Good luck.

And then there were two
Sometime in the last couple of days large rose bubbletip (about the size of a large grapefruit) turned into two baseball sized anemones. One is slightly larger than the other but both seem healthy (color, extension). Thus far the clowns are sticking with the slightly larger, but the female dominates...

I have the Diablo and really like it. Very easy to setup, adjust and use. I'm running it on a 125. Good luck.

Re: Clowns hosting a last
I had a large sadle carpet anemone in the tank for six months and they avoided it like the plague. It just got too big and was eating too many of my fish (18 inches across) so i had to get I'd of him. I hope this long tentacle is just in temporary shock and they will get used to each other. Time wil...

Re: Clowns hosting a last
Thanks. I get home today and the anemone was all closed up. I guess it is feeling a little beat up, the clown is not giving him any room to think about it. Hopefully he'll get used to it soon.

Clowns hosting a last
I've had a couple Ocellaris (sp) and a large red long tentacle anemone for about 6 months with absolutely no interaction. They both stay on the complete opposite side of my 125 gallon tank. Knowing the risk (and ignoring it), I brought home two new tomato clowns. Introduced them yesterday with no is...

Re: toadstool coral is shrinking
It always takes some time for a new coral to adjust to a new environment(different water, light and flow). Without knowing your water parameters I'd say just give it some time. As you add more corals, you do need to measure and maintain your calcium levels (amongst other levels). Good luck.
