fans in stands are good idea for air circulation, but not for co2 to impact ph values. most homes are co2 laden anyway. the only way to reduce co2 in a home is to open windows and doors. if your co2 levels are that high in your stand, you have other issues i have never had macro algae and reverse li...

stand looks racked? or maybe optical illusion. yes, 1/4" way to small for supporting sides of a tank that size. should have used 3/4"

sounds like a capicator went out. rather easy fix. remove old one and bring it to hd supply in diberville. they should be albe to match one up for you.
make sure chiller has been unplugged for a few days to discharge capicator, as they can shock the crap out of you, if not discharged.
