Temperatures I have personally maintained in the past (75-76 degrees) dramatically slow metabolic rates in corals to the point that they can't fight off disease or process food much less grow and thrive (see article).
how are you able to ascertain this?????

is is one of the most overlooked blunders in our hobby. Internal thermostats on heaters (regardless of the brand) are cheap and WILL fail...it's not a matter of "if" but "when". Buy a high quality temp controller like "Ranco" or "Johnson" (about $70) and run ...

you can not compare a par meter to a water test kit. water test kits are used to test values that are important into respect for water quality. we use water test kits to obtain a more finite value of the readings. par meters on the other hand is a more general type values for its purpose. unless you...
