I've got them in my 150...from my experience they just eat like any other snail...and they're free!

Re: mandarin dragonet

I've had these two mandarins for quite a while...I didn't do anything really, just saw him eat pellets the other day, but have been thinking about getting rid of him for a while.

Re: Please help - Return pump problem

Gerwin's got a point...my 150 only drains about 1/2" and I designed it that way...of course you could have more or less if you wanted it.

Phisher has great situational awareness when it comes to designing a system and how much space is needed

I agree with Jessie...I'm almost 100% with Aiptasia-X and coupled with the shrimp you'll be fine...that's what I did and it worked.

What brand pump?

I've had excellent performance from Mag-Drive and Eheim over the years...never lost one.

Re: Please help - Return pump problem

The water level is getting too low in your sump and your pump is sucking in air....add more water to the sump????

However, a terrible screaching noise sounds like a bad pump...sorry.

Re: Calcium in fish tank

Botton line up front: I can't answer your specific question, but....

Calcium in pure form will not harm fish, but I'm not sure what your cuttlebone is truly composed of...probably not 100% calcium and that is what would worry me. Pure calcium supplements are pretty cheap and easy to obtain.
