Re: setting up a saltwater from a freshwater tank setup
Gerwin hooked me up when I converted just like your doing. My problem was my large tank was destroyed by Katrina so I had filters and lights just no tank. They were older so I purchased one of his 100gal tank specials which was tank, filter, sand, salt, basically everything but the fish. I now have ...

Re: it happen
Just like my Sea Robin, had to move the minnows from the 100gal to the 55 since he is a active hunter.

Re: Dammit
Hind site I should have tested the water, I didn't. I was in emergency mode moving some fish to the large tank and swapping water. Removed maybe 35 to 40 gal out of the 55, tested since its perfect now.
Yes everything in that tank was native..... Those killfish minnows are hardy fish for sure...

Re: Dammit
Sadly I lost almost all the fish in the 55gal, everything died except the crabs and the kill fish minnows. I moved all the fish to a 38gal sic tank and drained the 55 did a huge cleaning. All the fish died within 5 hours, and whats got me really upset is all my bottom fish are gone except one blemmi...

Dammit
Well damn my needlefish just upped and died last night. He showed no signs of being sick or any change in his eating habits. In fact he ate normal like he always did since May or June when I caught him. He grew to almost 6 inches and one day he just dies... No one else looks sick in the 55, I hate t...

Thoughts about native fish....
First pictures to follow very soon, although most recent pictures are in saltwater section.... Its hard to believe I have had some form of native tank since before Hurricane Katrina. Currently I have 4 tanks running from 10gal to 100gal and except for two spotted molleys and a red fish I purchased f...

Re: Who am I?
I caught him a few weeks ago on that huge high tide, he was in a small hole that normally never gets water under some old hurricane damage from Katrina in Long Beach. When I saw him it was dusk and he blended quite well in the water and the trash (leaves and straw). I had no idea I actually caught h...

Re: Who am I?
Thanks Wes, but not the guy in the tube and your correct he is a spotted Goby. The little one up front with the longitude stripes. And I am so glad you still hang out here, I hoped I could count on your vast knowledge base.

Who am I?
Ok I originally thought this might be a remora, yet it does not look like he has that disk on his head to attach to larger fish. Also this guy walks along the bottom like the blemmies. He also has no problem hanging on to glass. Man I love these saltwater type sand walkers. They are fantastic fish. ...

Re: help needed - fish trauma
So why do they call it a Columbian shark when its a catfish? Its very much like my sailfin cat I caught in Long Beach.

Anoher cool fish and updates
I caught a small remora this weekend. What a cool looking fish he is about 1.5 inches long and will post pictures later. All tanks doing great the glass shrimp have returned to the area for those who catch live shrimp for their tanks. My Sea Robin is really big now and his head has the largest mouth...

Kinda sad day at the house
Well after a few discussions with a few here I finally let the Spade fish go tonight. A few factors came into play here the most important was this fish was getting huge. He measured approx 11 inches from the dorsal fin where it attached to his body to the bottom of his stomach. He was becoming aggr...
