Re: Byropsis Algae
Here is a couple links of what happens to sps when mag gets to high...if you see this on your sps then they are most likely going to die. It happens a lot when people's mag gets high...just keep your eyes on your sps. It won't happen to all, just one or two...or maybe none. Some are more sensitive t...

Re: Byropsis Algae
The salifert magnesium test kit is linear, after you use your full mL, suck up another mL. Start adding it like you have not tested and record your result like normal, then add your result to 1500. A quick FYI, high mag can kill acros. It will cause their flesh to bubble, then peel off. I had it hap...

How many types of coral do you have?
For those of you with reefs, what size tanks do you have and how many of each type of coral? I was counting my coral the other day and was a bit surprised. 150 gallon display 82 different acroporas 2 different pectina 2 birdsnest 1 pocilopora 2 montipora 10 types of zoas 3 favias 1 favites 1 torch 1...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
For anybody who is following this, the second round worked in 24 hours. By the end of the day, all blue cloves and daisy polyp's were shriveled or closed. The stringy matt they were on is still there, but they are dead. I'll post pics later, but here is one before and after. I did move some of my GS...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
Started round two last night, added a whole tab dissolved in some heated RO water straight to the sump and turned carbon and skimmer off. I don't know why it is, but all of my acros have extra pop this morning...so they like something in these tabs. Going to run skimmer-less for at least 48 hours an...

Re: Unsolvable issue
What was going on "I think" is the reflectors were touching the tank, and stuff was trying to ground through them. Along the whole top of my tank and glass cross beams I was getting 7-15 volts on the glass. Glass has iron in it, which is conductive and micro salt spray is as well. I clean ...

Re: Unsolvable issue
I think I found the issue, causing all of the craziness going on with voltage in my tank. I'll try to explain it, but I'm not sure I totally fixed it. It seems that the way my bulbs and reflectors were positioned they wer picking up stray voltages and sending out their own, all kinds of crazy stuff ...

Re: 300dd build
What speed RO are you using and what tds are you getting before the RO and after? You can get Zero tds by bypassing you RO membrane. You run through a small sediment filter, then two carbon blocks, one small micron and one very small micron, then skip the RO and run it through two di chambers and yo...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
Here is the final consensus as of friday So the tank started to look stressed, acros started losing color so I decided to run some carbon, gfo, and do water changes over the weekend. The GSP is in really bad shape and is whithering away. I'd say it is about 60% gone, but does not look like it will b...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
Nobody really knows, it is a side effect people noticed when dipping acros in fluke tab water to treat for aefw... When they put the acros back in the display, people noticed blue clove polyp's dieing off. I had some die off in my tank after a frag order, and asked the people I bought from and they ...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
This morning the GSP is starting to disintegrate and the blue cloves are really stressed looking. Will be turning carbon back on tomorrow. It is definitely working, just took a little longer than expected. Pink feather duster still looks good, and so does tr little bit of my green and red sympodium ...

Re: Fluke tabs to kill of GSP and blue cloves
Here is what I have observed as of today. My GSP is not opening and has some recession in some places. The blue clove polyps seem to be thinner but are opening like normal. The blue daisy polyp's seem to be extremely stressed. My snails, hermit, crabs and pink feather duster all seem to be uneffecte...
