Re: Setting up a 75g saltwater aquarium
Richard is spot on. No matter what you read on the labels or what you may hear, if you want a successful SW tank, you must use RO/DI water. Never mix the salt in the tank. You need to mix the salt and RO/DI water in a container and make sure all of the salt dissolves. Let it sit for 24 hours or so f...

Re: Red Planet
Gabriel K has offered me a frag Matt, but if something happens and he can't come through, I'll give you a shout. Thanks for the offer.

Re: Red Planet
Yeah, Eric teased me saying that he has a red planet piece--only it will be a long time before he can frag it. Throwin' freakin' bones! LOL!!!

Red Planet
I realized the other day that my tank has no red in it. Loots of green, purple, blue, orange etc., but no red. So, I'm looking for a small frag ($10-15) of branching red SPS. Would really like something such as a frag of Red Planet etc. If you have something please let me know.
Thanks,
Wes

Re: LED's
I do want tho treat my PAR because even with the MH it was never as high as I expected. Do you know if Gerwin ever found his meter? I know he was looking for it at one time. My kit is a build from Rapid led. It has 30 3w Crees in it. Now, I have no idea how that translates into output but they sure ...

LED's
Okay, so most everyone knows that I've finally upgraded to LED's and I love them. I have a question that I know those of you who've used them for a while can answer. When should I expect to start seeing better coloration and such from my SPS? The lights have been running for two weeks now. I run the...

Re: What have you done for your tank this week?
LOL! Pete. It is a neon green sinularia (softie). I kept a small frag and took the mother colony to Gerwin along with the huge Pocillopora. When I redid my rock work, I didn't have a good spot for it so I took a frag, and brought the softball size momma to Gerwin as well.

Re: What have you done for your tank this week?
Well since I've been on vacation this week I've had the house to my self during the day, so it really didn't take as long as it would seem. I took breaks and had a long phone call, but over all it took me about 3.5 hours, maybe 4. Before the LED's and rock rework. This is under the 500w of MH HQI an...
