Tank Leak

Post by Parham » Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:18 pm

I discovered I have a slow leak in my tank coming from either the hose or the fitting but that I can handle, my question is this:
It has been going on for a while before I stuck my head under there to replace water in my ATO and noticed and water had pooled on top of the beams of my stand. Can your wooden tank stand getting wet cause it to fail? Does that cause it not to be able to handle the load bearing of my 125 gallon tank? I would think that with fish tanks these kinds of things would happen and they would be built so that this would not be an issue but I wanted to get your opinion and see what, if anything I should do.

I have soaked and have seen soaked a many a stand, so long as its solid wood not a big deal. Particle board on the other hand can begin to crumble if water gets past laminate.
You my friend bought a solid wood stand from me and have no worries :D
other than a wet floor :(
