And here I was trying to give advice to a professional! LOL! :D So I guess you "know" how to take a macro shot then! Would love to see some of your Acros and chalice in macro. Their polyps are just awesome.

I have recently discovered in my old age that my hands are not as steady as they once were  had to go find a monopod to shoot longer exposures from. I have made about 10 images from my good camera since I shot the last pics after Katrina. Those were done because Scott Allen was talking about shooting into the tank and having problems wanted to see what the deal was as my little Olympus PEN II seems to do a pretty good job have not bothered with macros etc just playing with color balance by changing exposure length and F Stop without having to post process. I may post a couple more soon but until I get everything stable and corals coloring back up will hold on any real macro stuff. I really have not used any pro equipment since 3 weeks after Katrina when I shot some stuff along the coast I grew up off Cowan on St James and just bummed out lost the business and seeing the desolation that was the coast Just did not feel like doing it any more. I never quit just got a P&S and do just that point and shoot....Once you learn to make the camera see what you see your images will get better.

I understand. I've shot some macro pics and they've turned out pretty well, but I've not got my white balance correct so the colors are off sometimes. I've not had a chance to mess with it lately but I want to take some pics under my new T5 bulbs as well as try and get some more shots under the MH. I have the Canon software for post processing but don't really know how to use it so I haven't messed with it.

Try using the on camera flash turn it on and cover it with a paper towell so it will not show it changes what the auto white bal is looking for it will fool some cameras into almost perfect 16k to 20k colors.

since you can see thru the tank we are contemplating painting the wall behind it black or dark blue so it is less distracting not sure may try to get som fabric to hang and see what it will look like.

I really didn't notice the back wall in the pics, until you said something about it. I would bet, it most likely bothers you more than anyone else, but that's the good thing about paint, if you don't like it, paint it back. The tank looks awesome by the way, the corals seem to have come thru the move really good and look happy, happy happy, I would have bet money you would have lost a bunch of corals. I base that on Andy losing a lot of his corals during his move, but he moved tank and all, sure that had a lot to do with it. Again, Tank looks great 8)

Some know some don't the trials and tribulations of AEFW and Monti Nudi Branches, both at the same time. So the 300 has been thru a lot and finally getting lined back out.
We added to many fish and spiked nitrates to over 70, could not get them under control then while dealing with that got a "DEAL" on a couple pieces of coral, dipped them and introduced both pests from eggs into the system.
I started dosing Red Sea NO3PO4x for the nitrates 11 weeks ago, and dipping all the SPS in Bayer Advanced about 6 weeks ago. As of this morning nitrates are 0, Phosphates are at .015 (no GFO) for the second week in a row, current dose of Red Sea is 1 ml per 25 gallons daily,
Going to dip tomorrow with Coral RX for one last round and see what happens. All corals are doing much better and fish are fat and sassy.

On a sad note The Shadow Dog is almost 9 years old and seems to have cancer in his rear foot, to old and big to do anything radical to help him so we are in keep him comfortable mode seems the money we have not spent at G Mans had a place to go anyway.
For those that do not know or haven't seen pics He is a 180 pound blue Great Dane.

Yes yesterday was a fun day, We were in the middle of doing what I hope to be our last dip on the 300's corals when we got a call from one of our kids wanting to hide from the Tornado. We had no idea it was coming. Storm passed about 1/2 mile from my house See Oak Grove High School damage we are close to it. Will know this afternoon if we got any damage or not was to wet and dark to look by the time we knew it was clear for sure.
