Chaeto

Post by bluwtr » Thu Sep 13, 2012 11:30 am

Free Chaeto to anyone who wants/needs some. I've got plenty in my sump and it's time to thin it out. It's full of small tube worms and pods (ask redfish! :D ). If you are interested just let me know. First come; first served.

Hey Eric. Yeah, I do. Since I started running the Xport PO4 and NO3 my Chaeto is slowly dying off, but you are welcome to a clump of it. It will bounce back quickly in a tank with some nutrients. Do you live in OS and if so where about? I live in Gautier, but work in Biloxi.

I will be at work from 8-5 in Biloxi tomorrow and at my second job tomorrow night from 5:30-10. Friday I will be in Biloxi again, Saturday I work my second job, then a wedding and then to Hattiesburg for the game. Sunday I leave in the evening to go Jackson for a week for a meeting. Aside from that I'm free anytime! LOL!

What were you doing befor the export? I am still fighting both phosphate and nitrate, rowaphos and biopelletts may be keeping it at bay but not holding levels down.

Hey Richard. Before I started using the Brightwell products I was using GFO, Chaeto and just skimming. I didn't have high resolution test kits then so I wasn't sure what my levels were but my Cheto was bright green and I also had some nuisance algae in the tank. Go to http://brightwellaquatics.com/products/ and read up on their products. I've more than pleased to say the least!

I still am and still love it. I use it and the NO3 version. Hanna checker reads zero every reading and no nuisance algaes. It costs more at first, but I think it is cheaper in the long run because it lasts so much longer than GFO.

I have been using the Xport PO4 for about 6 months. Extremely happy with it. My system runs Xport PO4, skimmer and chaeto. Tests show zero on high res tests. When Gerwin suggested it, i didn't think twice. It's easier and not as messy as GFO.
