Feeding options

Post by Corey M » Sun Jul 09, 2006 4:17 pm

Any advice on when to branch out from simply using dried flakes ?

I got a beauitiful singapore (vermiculated) angel a few days ago and it is "grazing" but what about actively feeding it ? including algae from the asian stores or otherwise?

I have a mandarin fish. Is my live rock alone going to suffice and can it replenish / "keep up" or does it need any supplementation of microorganisms through any means ??

My falco hawk fish has been simply eating flakes, what about other food supplementation. He has been very happy to gobble up a dried freshwater shrimp each of the last 3 days when I offered one from my old turtle food cache.

Freeze-dried brine shrimp or FD pacifica plankton? Hawks aren't picky-- they'll eat anything. Get that angel plenty of green stuff-- spirulina or the sheet algae.

the spectrum food pellets are really good. Thats what we feed 90% of the fish here at the store and the frozen is also very good.
