green chromis spawning
had a pair of green chromis spawn on one of my derasa clams yesterday. they are the white appendages in picture.
did my best to take a picture, camera can not zoom in close enough.
these eggs are small. half the size of a clown fish eggs.
eggs are not in a tight clutch, they are spread out on one side of clam

i am game for a lesson on photography
actually yes, when gerwin came by the other morning for coffee we noticed the usual ritual that spawning fish usually perform.goalk33p3r wrote:that is awesome did you get to see them do that
then he noticed the spawning tubes on two of the chromis, and the rest was history.

the weird thing is that my tomato clowns lay their eggs on the squamosa clam and now the chromis are laying their eggs on a derasa clam

Re: green chromis spawning
Now that is a pretty cool looking fish.
One day I will graduate to a salt water tank. I know phisher lives close by me...may have to go snoop around his tank a bit and build up some knowledge/confidence so I can convince my wife it is a good thing
Reefs and saltwater fish are so much prettier than artificial reefs and tiger barbs
