Its funny I have really been wanting to do a big fresh water planted tank for a while. If I had not sold my 120g, I was going to do live plants and like 200 cardinal tetras.

Well, I thought about putting a bunch of bass in it, but once it came down to it, I figured koi would be cheaper to feed as adults and less likely to have people throwing hooks in front of them :)

First time I tried it I got to day three with the babies before they all died.
Second time, didn't make it to the second day.
I was going to try it the last time they laid, but something ate all the eggs before they hatched.
Waiting, they will lay again, so I haven't given up just yet. Still gonna try.
Also trying to catch my male pj cardinal fish before he spits out his babies, gonna see if I have any luck with them also.

I saw somewhere online they have commercial incubators that aerate the eggs. Not sure if that will help you or not - but I remember seeing them on some website when I was researching :)

If we use that as a metric if a tank is healthy or not I have a frigging brothel in my place. The Bull minnow's have been at it for at least a month but the damn eggs are clear and I can't catch them before the others either eat them or they are so clear and the power head has produced such a great current they quickly disappear. The smaller striped fish that I have no idea what they are are also "getting it on"; lol
