Looks good Don. I will say that it wont be long before you have a monospecific tank though. Lions are very picky eaters--they don't eat glass, power heads, filters, rocks or other lions! :D  Just some friendly fyi. Lions have gotten into the Gulf now and these guys are a real threat to local species. They have also been found as far north as Massachusetts. Beautiful fish but best kept by itself or with other lions.

Actually I have 6 other fish in my 100gal with my lion fish...granted you have to put in fish that are larger than the lion fish can swallow. I even have 2 damsels in there but unfortunately they are too big for him to eat.

iam sure that i read the same article, about the lionfish in the gulf, if i remember right they also said that they were good tasting fish. if uncle harry keeps it up, i may be the one with a fish tail hanging out of my mouth. i plan on relocating him into his own tank this weekend, iam surprized that he went for one of the bigger fish in the tank, since he is still rather small about 4"head to tail.

Hey Don, you did read correct in that they are tastey! The meat is very white like grouper--when you just drift around and slurp up food you don't have to make big muscels! I've not had it but a researcher from NC I met at a meeting spoke about it. I guess Uncle Harry just wanted the 18oz ribeye and not the 8oz filet!

Hey MP, just give him time. I'm sure he will take "care" of your damsels as well! ROFL!

Best of luck with them folks.

Wes
