How long before a new fish should eat?

I have this very cool new flame hawkfish(highly recommended by Gerwin). Very active, swimming, hopping around, perching and watching. Problem is he isnt eating, he seems interested but wont come up and eat. Clowns eat everything. How long before I should start worrying? Thanks. Bud

My Hawkfish will not eat anything except Mysis shrimp. As soon as the mysis shrimp hit the water he devours them.

Are you feeding live or freeze dried mysis? I got him yesterday., do you think he can make it until Tuesday? Thanks, Bud

Your hawkfish will be fine to wait till the store opens on tuesday. Try getting some frozen mysis or 50/50 and defrosting it in tank water. Then drop it in. My fish really brightened in both attitude and color when I started to feed frozen goods in stead of flake.

seen fish go for a week before they start to eat, not even to worry until about 4-5 days, but offering variety is always a good idea, then once they start feeding...its game on

Update. Fish is eating the pellets like a pig. Still going to offer varied diet oncd Gerwin gets some mysis. Thanks.
