I went to pick up the clam yesterday. Today he opened up and he's been spewing some white stuff out of the smaller of the two holes.. It's clouded the water in my tank up.. It seems like the LPS love it though, they are all swollen up lol. After doing research I have found that it's spawning and that clam sometime do this when stressed. Hopefully I don't need to be too worried about anything but the water quality in the tank. He's putting out a LOT of clam goo. The fish and corals and shrimp are loving it though!

First here is him before I moved him

Right after he went into my tank... the shell is the size of a regulation football!! Image

And today!!

(Nice, I saw a post from Wes earlier saying how to put images in line easier! Thanks Bluwtr!)

Lots of new pics of the tank at www.photobucket.com/210g

I decided how I'm going to handle my auto water change system. After experimenting with the skimmer and a few long conversations with Coralvue (the makers of my SRO-3000int reef octopus skimmer) I am convinced that using my skimmer is going to be a pain and there is really no upside over traditional skimming. So, I have decided not to take this route.

I'm going to use 2 BRS 50/ml a minute dosing pumps. At the start of each hour one will pull water out of my sump for about 5 minutes then the next 5 minutes my other pump will add water back in. During this time my ATO will be off. Skimmer will be uninvolved. (this is only 0.0660430131 gallons an hour) For a total of 1.5 gallons a day! Simple, reliable and I have all the pieces sitting around. (well just about, need one more pump)

I dont blame u. I would have dining room table, couch, and bed in front of it!!! One question about ur led setup. Are those just blue or do both white and actinic colors?

It's actually 3 different color leds. White, blue and royal blue. All 3 of which are independently adjustable fron 1%-100% and can ramp over any time you want. So the color possibilites are anywhere from 6500k warm white to royal blue dark actinics. And millions of combinations in between. The lights have a full power spectrum of about 20k.

The color to the eye is no where near as blue as my android camera looks. The higher quality pics from my mom are closer but still probably a bit more blue than it looks to the naked eye.
