Male clown fish eating all the eggs

Is it normal for the male clown fish to eat the eggs? He eats them just as fast as she can lay them. I have tried feeding them when I notice she is laying eggs but he ignores the food and goes straight for the eggs.

I would say not abnormal for either to do that. probably gonna have to separate for success in your case. Lots of time stress or worries from the fish about something is a cause or the eggs are not fertile. Surprise momma does not try and keep him away.
