And on the 7 Hour, GER created Reef, Nano reef that is...
So I saw this little Jewel of a system and thought I could probably get it stuffed into some corner of the house, these are some quick photo's I took to show a potential buyer of the look of the tank, but this will serve as my diary of a Nano Tank. Cost 700 for Tank Stand and 36wt LED Lighting, comes with built in filter, skimmer and auto top off with reservoir, added so far 10 lbs live sand 18 lbs rock and corals with some crabs and snails, time from start to the point of this picture > 72 hours. Time before Rock, Snails and crabs and Zoas where introduced = 7 hours.
Oh and yes a shameless plug, I can get you these systems with or without lighting (299.00 for lights)

Reminds me of a 5-gallon shake & bake tank I once made long ago. After a late night saltwater shipment, I poured everything from the bottoms of all the live rock boxes into a bucket and took it home, dumped it all into a small tank, and hit the rack. Woke up the next morning to a full-blown microcosm-- tiny anemones, snails, hermits, brittle stars, even a blenny.

Re: And on the 7 Hour, Ger created Reef
it appears on day 9 the diatom algae has found me perfectly normal but still amazing with the RO water and phosphate removing media, and the biggest problem with nano reef so far is the fact that snails have little room to clean and frags are so small that it takes little to knock them over, hence I am becoming better acquainted with using glues in the reef tank then most

Re: And on the 7 Hour, Ger created Reef
day 17 Diatoms about 75% taken care of, in part to more snails and Pura pads. lights are running to much for such a new tank, I know better but I put some dependent life in there pretty fast. My little LEDS are slamming a potent 450 PAR at the bottom and hitting 500 plus near the surface and 1500! at the lamps. I must say that little Octopus internal skimmer is a micro beast as well, it fills up its cup 3/4 daily, which is impressive as I have not fed the tank yet. Other than snail feces and coral waste not much for organics.

Re: And on the 7 Hour, Ger created Reef
I would ask to come see it, but since I've yet to see the discus tank (that I've been waiting a year to see) I just won't even ask.
