Why would a Green Barb lose its color?
I have a barb that was dark (almost emerald) green and now he is almost translucent. Any idea what would cause this? This is a larger (not fully grown though) barb.

lots of reasons, to name a few:
lighting,
environmental changes as in, temp, decorations, background etc.
fish fighting,
and then possible illness
& diet change
to name a few
do not be alarmed for every little change just make sure you give your tank a once over to make sure all is ok and then watch for a bit.
