Moon Lights

Post by bluwtr » Fri Nov 26, 2010 12:11 am

I don't remember having seen any, but does anyone know if Gerwin has the 2-4 LED strip lights that simulate moon light? Everything I've read on them is positive. They are very low intensity, so they don't mess with the day/night cycle really. Aren't bright enough to help algae. Add a very pleasing "night" light effect to your tank. Makes corals and such really jump out in color. Some claim it helps their corals spawn, but I do subscribe to that too much. It's a LOT more complicated than just having a light come on--if nothing else you've got to have some Barry White or Marvin Gaye playing!!! :D

Thanks all,

Wes

I know he has a few lunar light options, he has the led's that come in 2 per "pod" and you can connect more together if you want, and i saw a led strip he had for sale it was alot more than 2 or 4 led's though.

Hooked up the R2 Moonlight tonight that Gerwin sales and at first I was afraid it was going to be too bright. I also had concerns about where to mount it since my lighting is a home made T5 retro. Gerwin told me that I could mount it just about anywhere and could swivel it to direct the light. Let me tell you this--if you want a moon light effect for your tank this product ROCKS! It is just the right amount of lumanence and it is a deep blue so it doesn't freak out the critters. I mounted it on the back edge of my canopy, tilted it slightly and perfect--just what I wanted. Well done Gerwin  . I will have to adjust my postion right to left though because I mounted it off center and as such the light is higher on one side vs. the other, but not a problem.

Thanks again G for a great product and great service.

Wes
