Stealth Pro Heaters

Post by garetjax » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:12 pm

I was at the shop today and was talking to Gerwin about the Stealth pro heaters being taken off the market. He knows about them and has removed them for sale and asked me to post to say anyone that has bought one from him can bring it in for an exchange. Its only on the Stealth Pro 100,150,200,250, and 300 watt heaters. Marinland is investigating a quality issue with them. I do know if you have bought them from other vendors you need to check with them for a replacement. He will be getting the replacements after thursday this week.

If this is not in the right place for the post please move it to the right area.

Thanks

Jeff

Thanks for the heads up Jeff and Gerwin. I had read about this on Reef Central, but haven't had a problem so really haven't thought about it.

Gerwin, what do you offer for replacement? I know you've got some other brands. What would you recommend?

Hummm  I just bought a new heater awhile back and don't have a clue what it is. I asked Gerwin which was the best, he pulled it off the shelf and handed it to me and I bought it, didn't even look at the package to see what kind it was, just brought it home and put it in the sump. Guess I need to start paying attn. to what I am buying even though I trust Obwan with what he tells me to buy.

I am going to have Aqueon for replacements, was told they are almost identical in operation ets as the stealth pros
The Stealth line is a all Black Thermal plastic heater, the knob illuminates green or red as far as operation goes. I have sold a ton of these heaters as the branding and technology was solid,
anyway give a call before you pull your heater out to make sure I have it on the wall, matter fact maybe here would be a good place to give me some kinda count of what sizes I need to get for replacement.

Thanks
Gerwin

I got a few from the store and didn't want Gerwin to have to go through all the hastle so I took them to petsmart...only thing is...they'll only give you a store card (unless you have a receipt fom them...lol). :( was hoping for cash so I could go get some more from Gerwin! After all...He is my favorite LFS! I try to do best by him :)

Jess, I tried sending you a PM about a job lead for the summer, but I don't think it went through. If not let me know and we can go from there.
