It's a silver moony. Technically a brackish water fish. I have 4 of them I got from a reefer that was breaking there tank down. They eat like pigs and are super super active. They are pretty cool.

They are a really interesting fish. They breed up stream in rivers and canals, then as they progress through there life cycle they make there way back down and eventually into a full marine environment. "technically" I should raise the salinity with them as they grow... But they have been doing fine in a full marine environment for 6 months prior to me ever getting them... and so far are doing well in my SG of 1.026.

New led full spectrum supplements to go with my AI. It's a subtle but definite pick up in coloration. Much more defined reds and greens in addition to keeping the blues from washing out so bad. My camera does it no justice.

And my next project!! My ultimate CaCO3 Reactor!

And I'm still waiting on my electronic regulator from aquariumplants.com!

All is well on the reef, seeing great growth! I've been seeing some recovery of my Montis after getting rid of the Monti Black Bugs with interceptor.

Scott, it seems your go slow does not necessarily meet others vision of go slow. Tank is beautiful I am looking foreword to seeing it in person again. I like the light change not so cold looking now. Did you meter it as you changed or just work through the color shift?

Hey, I was just looking through the 350 some odd pics on your photobucket. Are you using CO2 to power your protein skimmer? And what is that device sitting on the top right rim of your tank?

Sorry, I'm sure you explain it somewhere in this thread, but I couldn't read through all 100 replies...

I turned my AI's down in both % and time to compensate for the extra light. And I have only seen positives in response to the spectrum. It was really smooth, I had a little burning, but it recovered quickly and is already showing better coloration and growth.

The Co2 is going to be hooked up to a Geo 818 calcium reactor, but I'm still waiting on some fittings to get it all online.

The thing on top of the tank is an acrylic algae scrubber. It houses two sets of t5ho lights that shine on a rough screen that water passes over. I put 2700 kelvin bulbs in there and it gives extremely optimal conditions for hair algae which sucks up all the nutrients in the water and keeps my nitrate at 0 and phosphate at near 0. Clean the algae out week to 2 weeks and it's amazing! There are a ton of articles online about them.

Some of my most dramatic growth and coloration pics! I was looking at my pics and noticed these.

8/2/11
Image

5/8/12
Image

8/15/11 - Notice all 3 the Monti Confusa, and the Green acro above it and the brown acro in the top left of photo
Image

5/8/12 - Leds don't color acros huh? See that purple monti colonyu?
Image

8/30/11 That colony started as this brown monti in this pic!!!
Image

8/2/11
Image

6/9/12
Image

8/2/11 - This monti was actually a hitchhiker and was barely alive in my old 30g
Image

6/9/12
Image

8/30/11 - See that pink epoxy with that tiny piece of coral below the digitata, and the green slimer on the right?
Image

5/8/12 I really wish I had pics that properly represented these corals.
Image

9/4/11
Image

5/8/12 And this pic does NO justice to how pink/red it's become.
