Recordia Questions
Ever since I saw Sandys tank on the TOT, I won't be happy till I get a few recordias for our tank. Sooo, I went on You Tube yesterday to see some videos of some recordias and learned something I didn't know about them. I thought they were like regular mushrooms, stick them in your tank and watch them grow. What I learned was that you need to feed them, or at least the videos I saw, they were being feed Spectrum pellets. One video showed the recordia eating two pellets, pretty cool video, the recordia ate one pellet and then moved the other pellet to its mouth and ate it also. I think the video was at four times speed but the recordia moved the pellet to it mouth in short order. I have bought two recordias for our tank since we have had it and have lost both to the depths of our tank when they came off of the rock they were glued to. This was my fault as I didn't know how to get them to mount to some live rock rubble and to then glue them to a frag plug or a piece of live rock. The recordias that I had bought were small, about the size of a dime, or a tad smaller. My question: how and what do you feed recordias that are this small, how often do you feed them, and how do you keep your fish from stealing the food away from them? My Hippo Tang is a feeding pig, no way he will let a piece of food sit on a recordia without stealing it. Is there anything else I need to know about this coral before I make a purchase? I got a small recordia from Sandy, Thank You for that and if you come up with a few more babies that you wouldn't mind parting with for a few $$$$ let me know.

I honestly wouldn't lose any sleep over not feeding them...if you do then great, if not, no worries.

Thanks for the info, I didn't think you had to until I saw that video.
