Scooter doesn't need a home... but now I need help! LOL
Ty soooo much Gerwin for your help today! I got home put the triggers in my mini refugeum with scooter, and he is eating like no tomorrow! I was sitting there so happy thinking oh wow this is so great... and then... ok now what? LOL.. I can't keep him in this thing forever... should I just change to a sand substrate? and if so, how stressful is it for the fish to redo an aquarium?
Thank you again so much, I know at least he's safe for now!

Sweet, looks like many great things happened. The horseshoe crab came out of hiding last night and my current in the tank is a little strong so he was swimming all over the tank... I caught him and put him in the slower current section (the dark side) yet he wanted to be on the lighted side. Today (this morning day 3) he is hidden again.
Congrats Rene

Thats where I got mine, Gerwin was funny about my tank.... lol All joking aside I wish I knew him years ago so much knowledge. The baby in my tank just scoots around and I have a pretty good current going from the 110, 60 and the power head so there really isnt allot of stuff just sitting. Although this is a bad thing also. All day yesterday my Bull Minnows were busy laying eggs and most washed off in the current and got eaten by the spades. I tried to catch a few but the eggs were so small and moved way too fast. I have a small 1 gal tank just for them if I can catch a few.
So hows the baby doing today in your tank? So what are triggers that your feeding him? I looked up triggers and on the net they are huge fish.

well they're trigger pods... smaller than fleas... he is doing well, has eaten a WHOLE bunch it looks like. They come with about 4000 in a bottle and it looks like a good 1/3 of what i put in there is gone. they could be hiding, but it's a small place lol.
The scooter is active, and eating like I said. Can't tell if he's put on any weight from it though lol

thats is a reasonable thing to do, they are small do you think they could have gotten through your netting?
and I think to myself if I took all 4000 and put them in a ball, is that ball bigger than the digestive system of the fish? probably not
, you might let him back into tank now and let him hunt for his next 4000 and this was the meal that kept him going...kinda like a I.V., get him back to health so he can do what he is suppose to.
But I would give Jocko's idea a try too

Re: Scooter doesn't need a home... but now I need help! LOL
it is possible they got through tho i thought the net was tiny enough.. still I cant see how he would have gotten them all... But I agree he should be stronger now and maybe he can find some in the main tank. he's back in there now. I left the small refugeum thingy I made there in hopes that some pods are still in it and this will give them a safe place to breed. I hope lol...
Can he be weaned? I thought with this kind of fish there were no real choices in what they ate?

Rene; I know my fish are not like real saltwater fish but in between the aqua-pigs and the garbage disposals I do have a few that are really difficult to feed one mainly being the pipefish and either he doesn't know he is supposed to be difficult or I got lucky. He eats frozen brine and tropical flakes and freeze dried mysis shrimp. The frozen brine were a challenge but I am slowly getting away from everything except for a morning feeding of frozen worms mixed with frozen brine. I know for my troubled babies I put them in a secondary tank and depending on what it is they either have air stone only or its large enough not to worry for a few days.
I do like Gerwins idea although if they are that small I would adjust your filter system as to not suck them back up into the filter. Although I know Gerwin was just testing me here....
So how did I do?
