With Gerwin shaking his head and finally giving up with throwing out the white flag with me he allowed me to spend a few bucks in his shop. Yup after a long speech about over crowding and stuff ( lol ). I'm just joking with ya right now Gerwin. Any who I am a proud father of a bouncing (unknown sex) Horseshoe Crab. Having seen them in wild doing cool stuff walking around on the sand and being busy little beavers; mine just digs into the sand and hides. But after a few checks he is still alive and kicking. Hopefully he will be a cool addition to the tank.
On a side note I tried the siphon sand cleaner thingy (betcha like those techy names like that, lol) I love the thing its like a new tank right now. After a few months all the fine and smaller sand ended up mixed into the rest of the sand but that little siphon actually shifted my sand in the tank and maybe a pound of sand total was removed by the siphon but little bit of organic material visible to even my poor eyesight was pulled out of the tank. OMG what a great investment, thanks for talking me into this purchase Gerwin.
I have also decided the next time my big blues shed they will be going into the bayou near me due to their pinchers will be regenerated. They are just too big and the next time I shift the sand I will be releasing 5 more croakers and this will leave me with two croakers. Or I might just let them all go; depending on how much oil damage we receive from this tropical storm thats going to be here this weekend. I really like the mullets so they will remain as will the spade fish. I still have a few more real small blue crabs in the tank.
Lucky the Crab Update. Lucky was a not so lucky female due to all her legs on the right side being removed during her last shed. I have seen this a few times in the 6 months I have had this hobby, they get scared and sometimes loose legs, claws etc... Lucky lost everything except for the flipper on the right side of her body. She went into a gallon tank with a few ghost shrimp and they lived together due to the fact lucky could go in circles, lol. Well lucky did shed last night and is a papershell today and has all her legs back and a claw. Its funny looking due to having full size legs on the left and half size legs and claw on the right side.... lol
OK done with my book....

Re: Hmmmmmmmm got a new tank buddy
Day 2 and the Horseshoe crab is still under the sand somewhere. I forget sometimes this is a huge tank and the sand is deep in some areas up to 2.5 inches.
But on the bright side no horseshoe crab empty or half shells anywhere so it appears in this situation no news is good news...
