OK most know I have a rather large aquarium filled with marine animals I rescued from the BP Spill before they got covered in oil and ultimately died from the oil. Last night I had my large blue crab (my daughter calls him Spanky, unsure why) molt or shed again. I took a few videos and pictures to document the entire act. Currently posting the video and here are a few pictures so you can actually gauge the size of this thing. He is frigging huge... FYI he is no longer a softshell but a papershell; still very soft but capable of some motion out of the water as the picture shows.
The video is posting but once its up it can be found here; its the latest posted video on top......... duh

Not going to bore ya with more pics but I now have a female almost as large as the male who molted this weekend; she molted late this afternoon and she also shows signs on sexual maturity on her bottom flap. The large male has not acted on it and they usually mate only when the female is either soft or a papershell so I'm thinking this next molt for her within the upcoming month will be the happy time for him. Although there is still a day for him to decide this time around.

In 9 days all my larger Blues all molted and I had a mess on my hands. I left them along until I found one snacking on a hermit crab; I went ahead and let the two big females go (who recently molted and had full claws) in a bayou near me away from the people fishing. In a way they are safer now than before as long as they stay in the bayous since the ban on Blues is still enforced. They didn't even wave good bye...lol
I still have a few smaller females; I have no idea where all these blues have come from. I seriously do not remember putting this many in the tank. Still have the Rock Crabs and they are getting huge also but constantly hidden under rocks and stuff. I am down to three hermit crabs now and one does not have any claws although it could have been worse since I interrupted the feast in process.
