So, I've had an RBTA for about 5 months now and it has grown substantially. Found its happy place, great tentacle extension (w/ bubbles) etc. I've been feeding it freeze dried krill for the most part, a shot of frozen mysis on occasion and over the last two weeks I've brought home anchovies from work--it loves them. I go to bed last night and all is well. Get up this morning and check on the tank (daily routine) and BAM! I've now got TWO! The damn thing split last night!

That fast! There were no signs prior to this--oral disk wasn't funny shaped etc. and it was still eating.
Just wanted to share the good news.

Thanks all! I worked at Lowe's tonight so I will try and snap some tomorrow and post them up. Very cool how you can see the "inside" of the daughter.

I had one that split 5 times!! Keep an eye on them, they are know to go over overflows and clog things up.

LOL! Yeah, this morn it moved across the entire tank in a short time, then found a powerhead. Glad I found it in time. It is now resting in a clear plastic cup until it heals.
Here are some pics.

LOL! It did it AGAIN yesterday! I got home from Gerwin's and was floating the snails I bought, so I decided to feed the two RBTA's. I try to feed the "parent" and it shrinks away, then I notice that it doesn't look quite right. I start looking and I realize there is now two where there had been one

. So now I've got three in the my tank. Awesome and crazy!!!

Thas pretty awesome dude. I know anemones reproduce asexually but 1 other reason they will split on their own is if there's a (drastic) change in ur aquarium parameters. It's a survival tactic. Just my 2 cents.
I've had my Sherman rose bubble tip for 7 months now. It was a hand me down. Since then I've cut him once into 3 and now the one I kept has grown and reaches 6"-8" across full inflated. I've had to relocate so many corals, especially sps, away from him that I'm really considering getting rid of him. He's steadily creepin closer and closer to my Hawkins echinata. I will be highly upset if messes with that one. Guess it's time to do another surgery...

Yeah, true, but I've not had any changes so I'm going to stay will awesome water! (At least I hope). All my tests are in perfect range. That's excellent with yours. Post some pics of it--love to see it.

I saw you had some Sherman Rbta back in may. Do you think you may have more anytime soon? I would really like to get one and we occasionally pass by ocean springs on way to our camp in kosiusko ms. Thanks

I actually have a small baby of the orginal RBTA that I started the thread on if you are interested. It's disk is about the size of a quarter, maybe a little bigger. Where do you live?
