Death in the Tank

Post by Redfish » Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:46 am

One of my four SPS corals (Bird of Paradise) was fine last nite and this morning, not so good, its turning white. All the other SPS corals look fine. Don't have a clue what happened to it, but is not all the way dead yet but almost. The thing about it, it was growing really good with new growth. We will see what happens to the Birds Nest, its about the same size with really good growth.

is it turning white as in loss of color (bleaching) or is it dead?

The frag grows up from the frag plug at a slant, the polyps on the underside and in the crevices of the branches have polyps, the top of the frag has no polyps and is white, wondering if its getting to much light, I will move it down and see if it recovers. I have had the frag in the tank for going on, it seems two months with no problem.

I don't have any pics, but the coral is pretty much toast. The birds nest is still doing fine, so what ever got the other coral, isn't messing with the birds nest.
