Very nice looking shrimp. I don't know if this is true or not. I have heard that they only eat starfish. I wonder, if this is true, how many starfish they will eat in a months time. How big is he and how big do they get, he sure looks cool though.

It is true, they do only eat starfish. I have soooo many of those Asterina starfish that I think he will be busy for awhile. I do not see him with one everytime I look at him, but I have watched him eat on one. Pretty cool. He is only about 1 inch. He does not hide all the time like I thought he would. Seems to have made house on the left side of my tank so I get a good view of him.... now that I have said this, he will probably move.

You only have the one? We always used to get and sell them in pairs. They don't get much bigger than about 1.5". They don't hide unless really harassed, so wherever you put dinner is where they hang out. They're actually kinda cocky towards curious fish. They like chocolate chips.

Chocolate Chips
Like the real ones, that go into cookies? They would never make it into the tank around my house,

Yea, Gerwin only ordered one. But that's okay, it will just take twice as long for it to eat all the asterina stars I have in my tank. I will have to remember about the chocolate chips when I need to start buying it food....Doug wrote:You only have the one? We always used to get and sell them in pairs. They seem to be able to manage CCs better, and the tube feet on them is a little meatier. Usually the cheaper of the Pacific stars as well.
