Wow Ger it looks really nice!
Your fish are beautiful and the plants are too.
I love how freshwater tanks turn into ecosystems that can basically take care of themselves!

are you kidding! this thing is more labor intensive than a reef tank! Co2 Injection for plants at a optimal level, dosing of fertilizers..to much and algae bloom to little and poor plant growth, water changes with RO water weekly, pruning of plant leaves that die off, trace elements added to keep to snuff for Discus with RO water.....needless to say thats why mine looks good and bad it depends how fired up I get about working on it.
Just like reef tanks...sure you can keep some plants under any conditions but if you wanna keep any plant you find then you have to look at all the lighting / CO2 etc.

Very nice! I'd love to see it in person...looks like another tank I could watch for hours:)! If you use CO2 then why do you not reccomend it....?

because most people who play with a few FW Plants are not ready to drop 3-400.00 on the bottle / regulator / reactor / ph controller/monitor but for those who are I am there to help guide them. Besides there are lots of folks that have nice plants with out all that. I just wanted to do the whole thing so I was better prepared to answer questions in regards to planted aquariums.
